Whether the medium is a screenplay or a business plan, Cyrus Ahanchian’s command of storytelling comfortably interchanges language with numbers to structure commercially viable ideas that attract funding. From venture capitalist to entrepreneur to filmmaker and media analyst, Ahanchian has become known for his negotiation savvy, tenacious persistence and innovative perception. Building upon the synergies he found growing between his creative storytelling and his strong understanding of business economics and brand management, Ahanchian established Mojoflo Productions in 2007.
Ahanchian started his professional career with Enron Investment Partners (EIP). While there, he shot through the ranks of their notoriously competitive analyst program-- rising from intern to lead analyst to deal originator in less than two years, before selling Enron his business concept for trading television advertisement time as a commodity. After acquiring his first restaurant, he then left EIP to buy, operate, and sell other similar-sized ventures from multiple industries. Ahanchian utilized his financial analyst training with his entrepreneurial experiences to develop a core methodology for managing any type of business. By the age of 25, his natural resourcefulness and proven operational track record resulted in him raising over four million dollars in funding for six of his business ideas through a combination of bank loans, equity investors, and corporate financing. Altogether, he has written over 80 business plans and was voted Laredo National Bank’s Youngest Entrepreneur in 1999.
Leveraging his corporate and entrepreneurial successes to attend the USC School of Cinema-Television/MBA program on a full-tuition scholarship, Ahanchian graduated in May of 2004. While there, he was also the first recipient of the Larry Auerbach Award for the Study of the Business of Entertainment. This monthly financial stipend granted him invaluable mentoring from such industry legends as Fred Silverman (former President of ABC, CBS, and NBC), Steve Blume (ex-CFO of Brillstein-Grey), Aaron Kaplan (Worldwide Head of Scripted TV for William Morris), and Sandy Reisenbach (former President of Marketing for Warner Bros.). Additionally, Ahanchian was selected to produce one of only three documentaries that USC fully-finances for $30,000 each semester. Artistic and professional, his film, A Perfect World, serves as an outstanding example of what came to be expected from his future undertakings. In the spring of 2004, Film Independent (formerly IFP) named Ahanchian as one of five “Future Screenwriters” in their national competition for his first feature length screenplay, An American Race.
Now, Ahanchian serves as a writer, director, producer, and editor of television, film, and new media for Mojoflo Productions. As an artist, he has representation at talent agency William Morris-Endeavor Entertainment, at management firm Station3, and brand-integration ad agency Brand-In Entertainment.
